I just whipped this up at the request of a friend. Seems like a great way of using up lose buttons and odd bits of yarn.
Requirements:
Odd bits of dk yarn
4mm needles
Broach pin back
Button

Make 10 petals in 2 colours (5 in each colour)
Cast on 8
1: knit
2: purl
3: knit
4: purl
5: knit
6: purl
7: knit
8: purl
9: s1, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k1
10: purl
11: s1, k2tog, k2tog, k1
12: purl
13: s1, k2tog, k1
14: s1, p2tog, psso
Thread
5 petals onto a length of yarn. Tighten into a circle. Do the same with
the other. Layer them together. Attach to each other. Sew on button in
centre. Sew broach back on the reverse.
