"Where the Wild Things Are" inspired Max Toy

The Max beanie was super popular with the nephew, so I've made a Max doll as well. He is softer and less aggressive than in the book, simply because I wanted him to be plush. He is made with a chenille yarn.

Make 7 points. Darn in tails. Stitch the ends together.

Assembly:
Sew up the inside of each leg.
Stitch the top 2 cm of the head using the thread at the top.

Stuff the legs
Stuff head and body.
Place the face in the head gap.
Sew up the front.
Tie a length of yarn around the neck, tighten and knot. Use the tails to adjust the head and face to suit. Sew around the edges so the face doesn't fall off, and the stuffing doesn't come out.

Sew up the sides of the arms, stuff and attach.
Sew on ears to head.

Stitch up the side of the tail, and attach to the back of the toy.

Stitch on crown, or leave it as a removable piece.

Face
Gather a clump of the middle of the face, and with a flesh coloured thread, stitch a nose.

Attach eyes. I used goggle eyes - not suitable for small children. Embroider or use safety eyes for small children. With safety eyes you will need to attach them to the face section before sewing it on.

Embroider a smile, eyebrows, whiskers and buttons on the final unit.
